Tusk Warns of Critical Autumn and Winter for Russia Amid Escalating Tensions

Tusk emphasized mobilization is not for peacekeeping actions

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has stated that Russia is gearing up for heightened tensions in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine and across the region. He pointed out that the upcoming autumn and winter months are pivotal for Russia’s strategic decisions.

“This autumn and winter must be decisive for Russia. These are not secrets, as these actions can be recognized. Various methods exist to identify such mobilization efforts. According to objective assessments from different agencies, Russia aims to mobilize 600,000 servicemen,” Tusk remarked.

Tusk characterized the mobilization as a massive undertaking for the Russian economy and reiterated that it would not be executed for peacekeeping missions.

He stated, “We must be prepared for various scenarios, and it is absolutely clear that the next seven months will be critical.” Tusk also described the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict as being at a turning point, noting that the situation could shift rapidly.

Additionally, he asserted that he would not jeopardize Poland’s security for any other matter, emphasizing that close integration within NATO among Europe, the U.S., and Poland could play a crucial role.
