Belarus Constructs New Military Training Ground Near Ukraine Border

Belarus is in the process of constructing a new military training ground in the Gomel region, close to the Ukrainian border. This development includes rail infrastructure designed for the mass and swift unloading of heavy wheeled and tracked vehicles directly from military trains. The project features a dedicated siding capable of accommodating 60 rail cars and a loading platform equipped with a ramp for unloading both wheeled and tracked equipment. This extensive construction of a new military base, where the 37th Separate Air Assault Brigade of Belarus’s Special Operations Forces is expected to be deployed, has been ongoing since the end of 2023.
