Night Attack on Ozon Warehouse in Russia Reveals Military Strategy

A significant fire broke out at an Ozon logistics hub in Chapayevsk, one of the largest fulfillment centers in the Volga region. This facility, covering approximately 135,000 square meters, is capable of handling over 40 million products and processes more than 215,000 orders daily.
In addition to the attack on Ozon, the General Staff has confirmed strikes on the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery, a substantial oil processing plant operated by Rosneft. The refinery has an annual capacity of about 8.8 million tons of oil and produces over 20 types of products, including automotive and aviation fuel, diesel, and lubricant components.
According to the General Staff, the refinery’s output primarily supports the needs of the Russian armed forces. This marks the first known successful attack on an Ozon warehouse, previously targeted by Ukraine, which had conducted strikes on the Wildberries platform.
The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, was among the first to report the incident at the Ozon marketplace. Fire Point commented on the operation, stating, “Two different targets – one result: pressure on the Russian fuel and logistics infrastructure.”
