Military Expert Criticizes Former Defense Minister Over Odessa’s Vulnerability

Military expert Alexander Kovalenko has criticized former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, claiming he left Odessa defenseless against incoming drones. Kovalenko stated that Fedorov made a misguided decision by focusing on interceptor drones to counter Shahed-136, which rendered Odessa powerless against faster, reactive drones like the “Banderoil,” along with the resurgence of “Onyx” missiles and the scaling up of X-59/69 systems. The expert noted that these interceptors proved ineffective against quicker aerial threats, leading to the conclusion that Fedorov’s reports of a “secured sky” were misleading.
