Gabriel Răducan Shines in Liga 2 with Three Goals in Three Matches

Gabriel Răducan, a 25-year-old forward from Cetatea Suceava, has made a remarkable start to the Liga 2 season by scoring three goals in his first three matches, making him the league’s leading scorer. He netted a goal today in a 2-0 victory against CSM Olimpia Satu Mare, following a standout performance in the previous match where he scored twice against ASA Târgu Mureș.

Răducan, who developed his skills at Dinamo before signing with Cetatea Suceava at the beginning of the year, has helped propel the team from Liga 3 to Liga 2 under coach Petre Grigoraș. Cetatea Suceava has enjoyed a strong start to the season, earning 6 points from a possible 9. After a loss to Chiajna (1-3), they secured wins over ASA Târgu Mureș and CSM Olimpia Satu Mare, thanks in part to Răducan’s contributions.

Răducan’s Impact in Liga 2

Both coach Petre Grigoraș and sports manager Ciprian Anton have expressed their satisfaction with Răducan’s performance. Anton shared insights during a segment on Metropola TV, discussing their previous debates about recruiting a competitive forward. “We’ve been in discussions about bringing in another striker to challenge Răducan; however, he is proving to be a standout scorer already with three goals to his name. I’m confident he will be among the top scorers in Liga 2,” Anton remarked.

Reflecting on the team’s promising start as a newly promoted side, Anton stated, “It’s gratifying to have broken the ice in Suceava. Initially, we didn’t manage to secure any points, but now we’ve achieved a well-deserved win. I congratulate the team and appreciate our fans—today we had 4,000 spectators present.”

He also praised Grigoraș for implementing a successful game strategy, acknowledging the coach’s critical role in their performance. “I must commend him, as well as the players who contributed to making our supporters proud today. My thanks extend to the local authorities and sponsors who support us.”

Coach Grigoraș Weighs in on Răducan’s Abilities

Following Răducan’s impressive display against ASA Târgu Mureș, Grigoraș commented, “I’ve known Răducan for a long time from our junior days and at Oțelul. He possesses great qualities as a player. It’s important not to overhype him after just one match, but he shows strength and good skills, and I hope he maintains this level of performance, as it will benefit our team significantly.”

Răducan’s professional journey includes a brief stint with Dinamo’s first team, where he played a few minutes during a goalless match against Sepsi in the play-out of the 2017/2018 season. Since then, he has played 23 matches in Liga 2 for clubs like CSM Reșița, Dacia Unirea Brăila, and now Cetatea Suceava, scoring a total of five goals throughout his career in this division.

In 2022, Răducan faced a three-month suspension and a fine of 15,000 lei due to his involvement in a match-fixing scandal linked to a controversial game in the 2019/2020 Liga 2 season while on loan from Daco-Getica to Dinamo.
