In the current season, Leipzig reached new heights with the sale of Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City for €90 million, alongside Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai’s €70 million move to Liverpool and French talent Christopher Nkunku’s transfer to Chelsea for €60 million.

With Yan Diomande’s transfer, Leipzig set records not only for selling the youngest player at such a high price but also for achieving the highest transfer fee in the club’s history at €125 million. The move overshadowed another significant transfer this summer: Lois Openda’s permanent switch to Juventus for €42 million.
Since 2018, RB Leipzig has generated €1.066 billion from player transfers, with nine players sold for over €50 million each, showcasing the club’s impressive business model and commitment to nurturing young talent.
