Adrian Ilie Proposes Florin Tănase as FCSB’s New Coach Amid Tensions

Amid increasing tensions within the FCSB locker room, former international Adrian Ilie has made an unusual suggestion: appointing Florin Tănase as the team’s new coach.
Reports indicate that a conflict erupted in the FCSB locker room following a humiliating 3-7 aggregate defeat against Auda. This situation was further exacerbated after a 2-2 draw with Farul, during which captain Florin Tănase’s sarcastic remarks about the current coach, Marius Baciu, displeased club owner Gigi Becali.
Ilie’s Bold Suggestion: Tănase as Coach Could Change the Game
Ilie expressed his belief that appointing Tănase as coach would solve several issues, stating, “Given the current situation at FCSB, you could appoint him as coach. He may not have a coaching license, but that can be sorted out. If Tănase, who seems to have issues with Baciu, is made coach by Gigi, I guarantee that Tavi Popescu and Toma won’t play under him at FCSB.”
Marius Baciu officially took over the coaching role on May 19, 2026, just five days before a crucial playoff match against FC Botoșani. He started his tenure with a thrilling 4-3 victory, after extra time, against Botoșani and followed it up with a 2-1 win over rivals Dinamo, which qualified FCSB for the Conference League preliminaries.
In the current league season, FCSB has garnered 8 points from their first four matches, including wins against FC Argeș and Csikszereda, both by 2-0, along with draws against Farul and Sepsi. However, Baciu has faced significant criticism from fans due to the team’s disappointing exit from the preliminary rounds of the Conference League, suffering a 3-7 defeat to Auda.
