Russian drone strikes have resulted in the complete destruction of gas stations in the Poltava region, according to local officials. The head of the community, Reznik, stated that these gas stations cannot be repaired, highlighting the systematic targeting of fuel infrastructure by Russian forces.
Reznik noted, “We understand the enemy’s logic. They first targeted gas stations in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, and now they’ve reached Poltava. I believe the entire region will soon be without gas stations.”
Previously, the State Emergency Service reported fires caused by Russian attacks on several gas stations, a private residential building, and an industrial facility in Poltava. Fortunately, the fires have been extinguished, and there were no casualties.
In a broader context, on July 17, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry warned that Russian command had likely ordered its units to intensify drone strikes on civilian infrastructure and transportation in frontline and border areas. Ukrainian intelligence indicated that Russian military units were instructed to escalate attacks on gas stations, trucks, buses, and passenger vehicles.
