Marius Baciu, the head coach of FCSB, previewed the upcoming match against Sepsi and identified a primary concern for the team this season: a lack of cohesion. Several players joined the squad after the summer training camp, which has contributed to this issue.
Baciu acknowledged that the team is going through a tough period but remains optimistic that performance will improve as the recently integrated players settle in.
He also addressed speculation surrounding a potential conflict with captain Florin Tănase, which arose after Tănase was benched during a match against Farul. Tănase’s remark, “What relationship? I have a wife,” fueled rumors, but Baciu insisted that their relationship is perfectly normal, emphasizing Tănase’s importance in the locker room.

“We’re facing a very tough game. Everyone is concentrating at the start of this season, facing teams that look strong. We need to gradually elevate our performance and play better. Cohesion is what the team currently lacks, and that’s where we need to focus our efforts. Some players have joined recently and weren’t part of the training camp, so it’s natural they need time to adjust.
We have players who arrived two to three weeks ago, and it shows. Even though they are talented, adjusting to a new group isn’t easy. This is our biggest challenge—getting them up to a good level. Everyone needs work. We’re up against a well-organized and competent team, and all matches are fairly balanced at the beginning,” Baciu stated during the press conference.
The match between Sepsi and FCSB is scheduled for tomorrow at 21:30, marking the conclusion of round 4 in the Superligă.

“FCSB can rely on Florin Tănase from the start; he might also be on the bench, we’ll see. In light of the many rumors circulating in the media, I want to clarify that, often at a club like FCSB, speculation arises, especially when results are lacking. I can’t respond to every speculation, but this is a very honest team. It’s not easy to come back after a setback. We are all disappointed, but everyone is focused on bouncing back quickly. We may have limited time together, but with the integration of new players, FCSB will perform exceptionally well.
Speculation will always be present, but there is absolutely no conflict, especially between Tănase and myself or with other players. Tănase is the team’s captain; I have heard his statement, and I have not felt offended at all. Tănase can respond to anything; I always encourage him to communicate with me, and we have an open dialogue.
