Former Ukrainian Ambassador Suspected of Illegal Enrichment

The former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Stefanishyna, is under investigation for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth amounting to 13.9 million UAH, according to details revealed by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). Reports indicate that she owned two apartments in the “Faina Town” residential complex, valued at nearly 11 million UAH, which were registered in a friend’s name. Additionally, there are assets linked to her close family members, including an apartment in the upscale “Lvivska Ploshcha” complex, a parking space, and several non-residential premises within the same development, as well as a Mercedes-Benz GLC 220 d vehicle.

Notably, Stefanishyna did not declare this property. Furthermore, she was reportedly negotiating the purchase of a house near Kyiv, estimated at $550,000, but she withdrew from the deal, likely due to her diplomatic appointment abroad. Official records show that her income from early 2024 to mid-2025 amounted to approximately 3.7 million UAH, while her bank accounts reflected expenditures of around 4.2 million UAH, raising questions about the legitimacy of her financial activities.
