Bayer Leverkusen Pursues Moussa Diaby Amid Inter’s Interest in Nico Gonzalez

According to reports from Bild, Bayer Leverkusen is nearing a transfer deal for Moussa Diaby from Al Ittihad, with the player expressing a desire to return to the Bundesliga.
As Bayer looks to fill the void left by Denzel Dumfries’ departure to Real Madrid, Inter has also made an offer for Diaby.
Bayer Leverkusen Actively Works on Diaby’s Return
However, Bild suggests that Diaby may prefer a move back to Bayer Leverkusen, where he played for four years before transferring to Aston Villa in 2023 for €55 million. After just one season in the Premier League, Diaby moved to Al Ittihad, where he recorded 55 appearances, 9 goals, and 23 assists over two seasons. Sources indicate that Bayer’s management has maintained contact with Diaby and is currently working to facilitate his return to the BayArena.
Reports state that Bayer Leverkusen may need to pay less than €30 million to Al Ittihad, though Diaby would have to accept a salary cut from his current €10 million per season to around €6 million annually to make the deal happen.
Inter Milan Considers Nico Gonzalez Amid Transfer Developments
Inter Milan, on the other hand, has proposed an offer of €18 million plus Kristjan Asllani, valued at €12 million, for another target, Nico Gonzalez. Furthermore, Cristi Chivu is exploring the possibility of signing the Argentine player, who has reportedly declined a return to Juventus after a loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season.
While Gonzalez struggled with form at Juventus, he managed to regain some consistency during his time in La Liga, making 24 appearances and scoring 5 goals. Real Madrid had the option to purchase him permanently for €32 million but did not exercise it, leading Juventus to list him for sale at €27 million.
