Moroccan NGO Calls for Independent Investigation into Migrant Surge to Ceuta

The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) has called for an independent investigation following the unprecedented influx of migrants from the Moroccan city of Fnideq to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. In recent days, tens of thousands of migrants, mainly young Moroccans, have illegally crossed into Ceuta, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding this mass migration.

The AMDH expressed alarm at the “worrying silence” of the Moroccan government regarding the situation and emphasized the need for a thorough inquiry to clarify the causes of this migration wave. The organization is seeking transparency and accountability in addressing the challenges faced by these individuals as they seek better opportunities across borders.
