Mario Felgueiras Comments on Universitatea Craiova’s Loss and Player Sales

Mario Felgueiras, the sporting director of Universitatea Craiova, addressed the media after his team’s disappointing 5-1 defeat against Dinamo in the second round of the Superliga.
In his remarks, Felgueiras stressed the importance of motivation as the team prepares for its upcoming match against Levski Sofia. He also mentioned that “everyone is for sale” at Universitatea Craiova, referring to a notable offer the club received from Pyramids FC for player Assad Al Hamlawi.
Felgueiras: “Everyone is for Sale at Craiova”
“This is football. We lost 1-5, and that means three points lost. It’s a painful defeat, but we must move on. We have an important match on Wednesday, and we aim to win. That’s our mentality. Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve that this time. We apologize to our supporters, as we know how much this loss means to them. The beauty of football is that we always have the next match to demonstrate our abilities,” Felgueiras stated.
He acknowledged that the players put forth their best effort despite the result and expressed a commitment to finding solutions rather than making excuses. “We will reflect on this match. We can’t dwell on it. We have a crucial game on Wednesday, and we need to win to move forward. It’s too early to discuss Ronaldo Webster’s situation, but he will be evaluated tomorrow,” he added.
Felgueiras expressed enthusiasm for the presence of more Portuguese coaches in the league, emphasizing the need to entertain fans. He commended Dinamo for their positive play and looked forward to the upcoming home game against Levski, hoping for a sold-out crowd despite recognizing Levski’s strength.
Regarding Al Hamlawi, he noted the player’s minor injury but confirmed that interest in him was normal given his impressive season. “Everyone has a price. Even you, right?” he joked. “That’s a matter for the owner; I’m not involved in that,” Felgueiras concluded after the match at Arcul de Triumf.
