Brovdi emphasized that the war in Ukraine is unlikely to come to a definitive end and elaborated on his reasoning.
He stated, “When the war is halted for various geopolitical reasons or agreements come into play… I do not know under what influence it will be stopped, but it will not be ended” — highlighting concerns that the conflict may persist.
Brovdi expressed his belief that the illegitimate president of the aggressor state, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and any successors, are unlikely to cease their actions. He noted that the future for Ukrainians is now inextricably linked to the defense of their country.
He explained, “Putin’s aggressive policies will not stop, and even if he is removed, his successors will still be mentally inclined to retaliate against Ukrainians, who have shamed them globally. They will continue to seek to reclaim their mythological territories from former Soviet Union members. Ukraine will remain in a heightened state of emotional, psychological, and military readiness for a prolonged period,” he added.
Brovdi suggested that most Ukrainian defenders, primarily civilians, will attempt to return to normal life after combat operations cease. However, he feels he cannot do the same, as his current lifestyle does not allow for such a transition. He stated he is on a list of priority targets for Russian intelligence and has no illusions about his situation, saying, “I have already lived my best peaceful life.”
He concluded, “We will fight for as long as this war continues, while simultaneously instilling fear among the Russian populace. We want every resident to think thrice before signing a contract for a few million rubles to come here and die,” he summarized.
