Ukrainian General Drapeaty Resigns After Facing Russian Missile Strike

General Drapeaty was a prominent commander during the liberation of the right bank of Kherson. He also effectively organized defenses in the Kharkiv direction and disrupted a Russian offensive operation. In November 2024, Drapeaty was appointed commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. However, after Russian troops launched a missile strike on the “Cherkasky” training ground in the Dnipropetrovsk region, he took responsibility and submitted his resignation. Drapeaty is also known for executing a legendary breakthrough in a BMP vehicle at a separatist checkpoint in Mariupol back in 2014.
