Wife Saves Husband from Being Sucked Out of Ryanair Plane Window

A few days following a harrowing incident on a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, where a Serbian passenger was nearly sucked out of a broken window, his wife has shared her experience.

Svetlana Grković recounted how she instinctively grabbed her husband Ljubisa Karović by the legs when he was being pulled out of the aircraft. “If we die, we die together,” she recalled thinking during the terrifying moment.

The 61-year-old man was almost fully ejected from the plane after a malfunction led to the shattering of the acrylic window next to him while the flight was in progress. Despite wearing a seatbelt, he was sucked headfirst out of the plane.

“I reacted immediately and held onto his legs,” Grković said, noting that for about two minutes, her husband was outside the aircraft up to his chest.

With the assistance of two other passengers, she managed to pull her unconscious husband back inside. Grković observed that many passengers left their seats and sought refuge in other parts of the cabin as it began to decompress.

Victim Hospitalized with Serious Injuries

Ljubisa Karović remains hospitalized in Greece, described by Grković as being in a state of shock and seriously injured. “What matters most is that he is alive,” she expressed. “His hand is severely injured, and he has burns. He is unable to communicate and does not remember the entire incident,” she explained.
