Russia Launches Coordinated Attack on Ukraine, Targeting Kyiv and Other Areas

Russia has conducted a substantial assault on Kyiv and various Ukrainian towns using precision-guided munitions and long-range weaponry launched from air, land, and sea, as well as drones, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This information was shared in a post on Telegram on Monday, as reported by Reuters.

The Ministry stated that military and energy targets were struck in Kyiv and the surrounding region, along with military airfields in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions, as noted by Russian state media.

According to TASS, the nighttime strikes by Russian forces were described as a response to Kyiv’s attacks on Russian civil infrastructure.

Early Monday, Russian ballistic missiles and drones targeted Kyiv, resulting in at least nine fatalities and extensive damage to residential blocks and other structures, local officials reported.

Tymur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv’s military administration, confirmed that 46 individuals were injured throughout the city.

Ukrainian air forces announced that Russia launched 68 missiles and 351 drones against Ukraine during the night from Sunday to Monday.

Reportedly, air defense systems managed to intercept or neutralize 37 missiles and 326 drones.

Ukrainian authorities indicated that at least 15 residential buildings were damaged or destroyed in the attack, including a nine-story block in the historic Podilskyi neighborhood.

This latest offensive occurred just days after 31 people were killed in a prior Russian strike on the capital, marking the deadliest attack on the city this year.
