Trump Administration Downplays White Supremacist March in Washington

Doug Burgum, the Interior Secretary in the Trump administration, downplayed a march by several hundred white supremacists held in Washington, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He highlighted the significance of free speech in American democracy, according to reports from France Presse and Agerpres.
Masked individuals arrived at the U.S. capital’s main train station on Saturday morning, some carrying Confederate flags while others displayed the emblem of the Patriot Front movement, chanting “Take Back America!”.
Burgum stated, “I do not agree with any of the positions they advocate. However, one of the founding principles of the United States is freedom of expression.” He added, “There are many things I see that I could find offensive. But in America, freedom of expression is allowed,” during an interview with CNN.
