Petrolul Ploiești Targets Premier League Striker Dan Nlundulu

Petrolul Ploiești is making strides in the transfer market, seeking to acquire Dan Nlundulu, a 27-year-old English striker who has played 13 matches in the Premier League.
The club continues its impressive recruitment campaign, with Nlundulu potentially being their 11th signing. Earlier, they brought in players including Lukas Zima, Mark Țuțu, Alejandro Bran, Rodrigo Martins, Leo Teixiera, Calal Huseynov, Robert Jerdea, Lucho Vega, Adam Zaian, and Breston Malula.
Negotiations Progress for Nlundulu’s Transfer
Reports indicate that negotiations between Petrolul and Dan Nlundulu are advanced, with a deal nearing completion. Due to budget constraints, the club has offered a monthly salary of 8,000 euros and included a release clause worth 500,000 euros in the contract, which is set for two years.
Nlundulu recently became a free agent after leaving St. Mirren in Scotland just two days ago. He had a solid year in Scotland, featuring in 33 matches, scoring once and providing an assist.
His Premier League experience includes 13 appearances for Southampton during the 2020-2021 season, although he did not score any goals in that period.
Throughout his career, he has also played for Lincoln, Cheltenham, Bolton, and Cambridge United and is valued at approximately 350,000 euros according to transfermarkt.com.
As a right-footed striker standing 1.85 meters tall, Nlundulu is set to bolster Petrolul’s attacking options.
Petrolul Ploiești will kick off the new Superliga season at home against Dinamo, scheduled for July 19 at 19:30.
Following a disappointing end to the last season, where they narrowly avoided relegation, finishing 12th, Petrolul has also undergone a coaching change, with Ricardo Sousa taking over after Mehmet Topal’s departure.
