Vadym Yermolayev, a prominent Ukrainian businessman recognized as one of the wealthiest individuals in Ukraine, is believed to have been the target of an assassination attempt in Monaco, according to various sources. Yermolayev has held only a Cypriot passport since 2017 and has been under scrutiny for allegedly re-registering his business interests in Crimea under Russian laws through proxies, contributing taxes to the aggressor state for many years.
In 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted a decision by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) imposing personal sanctions on Yermolayev. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the reported assassination attempt as of now.
