Europe Experiences Record-Breaking Heatwave with Temperatures Reaching +45°C
Temperatures in Europe have reached a record-breaking +45°C, marking the most severe heatwave in the region’s recorded history. In response to these extreme conditions, France has announced the closure of schools and daycare centers. Authorities have also prohibited the consumption of alcohol in public spaces due to the heightened risk of heat-related illnesses, such as heat strokes and heart attacks.
In Spain, the heatwave has proven deadly, with 212 fatalities reported over just four days. Tragically, more than 40 of these deaths occurred in bodies of water, highlighting the dangers posed by the intense heat. As the heatwave progresses, it is expected to impact additional areas across Europe in the coming days.
