Severe Earthquakes Strike Venezuela, Death Toll Could Reach 100,000
Two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela, potentially leading to a death toll ranging from 10,000 to 100,000, as reported by Reuters citing the U.S. Geological Survey. The tremors caused significant destruction to residential buildings in the capital city, Caracas. Remarkably, the two quakes occurred less than a minute apart. In addition, a separate earthquake of 6.9 magnitude was reported in Japan, prompting a tsunami warning in the region.
