Rescue Operation at Mykolaiv Regional Military Recruitment Center Reveals Disturbing Conditions

A recent investigation into the Mykolaiv Regional Military Recruitment Center has uncovered alarming conditions, prompting a rescue operation. According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, six men were freed after being held unlawfully, including one individual with broken ribs who was caring for his 80-year-old mother and had a legal basis for deferral.
Among those detained was a father of a child with disabilities. It is reported that during his arrest, a police officer allegedly struck his son, leaving the child alone on the street in the evening. The stress and his diabetes worsened the boy’s health condition.
Lubinets noted that his representatives also intervened to save four other men, two of whom were suffering from severe illnesses, while another was battling viral hepatitis, and one had knee issues. All these individuals were released and were given the opportunity to obtain necessary documentation for deferment or to undergo further medical examinations.
The ombudsman highlighted the lack of transparency at the recruitment center, stating that less than 1% of complaints regarding its actions are publicly displayed.
