Over 1,400 Children of Ukrainian Defenders to Enjoy Summer Retreats

This summer, over 1,400 children of Ukrainian defenders will embark on a retreat, with the first group of 150 already arriving in the Carpathians. Participants include children from families of fallen defenders, prisoners of war, those missing in action, active military personnel, and veterans.
Organizers have developed a program focused on psychological recovery, socialization, and active recreation, aiming to improve the emotional well-being of these children and help them cope with the traumatic experiences related to the war.
Vladislav Belbas, the CEO of the supporting company, emphasized the importance of assisting the children of defenders. He noted, “It is crucial for us to support the children of our defenders. We understand that there are not always opportunities, time, or resources to organize rest for these kids, so we take on part of that responsibility. While our military holds the front line and protects the country, we care for the health and leisure of their children.”
The project, which has been ongoing for four years, has provided psychological and physical recovery opportunities for over 4,000 military children to date.
The initiative titled “Summer Without War” is implemented by the charity organization “After Service” in collaboration with “Mercy and Health,” with the goal of providing psychological support to children from families affected by the war.
