Mateo Susic Retires from Professional Football After Successful Career

Mateo Susic, a former champion of the Romanian Superliga, has decided to end his professional football career. The 35-year-old right-back, who previously played for CFR Cluj, announced his retirement from active competition.
CFR Cluj responded promptly, sharing a heartfelt message on social media.

Through their social media channels, CFR Cluj announced Susic’s retirement and expressed gratitude for his contributions to the team’s successes. “The final whistle has blown on Mateo Susic’s career! Today, our former right-back has decided to retire from professional football.
During his four seasons wearing the maroon jersey, Susic won three championships and one Romanian Supercup, playing a key role in some of the club’s most significant European victories, including matches against Celtic and Rennes.

Four Seasons and Four Trophies at CFR Cluj
Susic joined CFR Cluj in the summer of 2019 as a free agent after his time at Sheriff Tiraspol.
The Bosnian made 115 appearances for the club during his four seasons, establishing himself as a vital player and contributing to one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history, winning three consecutive Romanian titles and one Supercup.
Internationally, Susic earned 11 caps representing Bosnia and Herzegovina.
