“digital miners” will be trained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Economic news of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru

An agreement was signed in Krasnoyarsk on the creation of an educational and production cluster in the mining industry “Digital Quarry”.
It will unite SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, the V.P. Astafiev Technical College of Mining, the Zelenogorsk College of Industrial Technologies and Services, the Siberian Federal University and the Borodino Secondary School No. 1.
The cluster was created as part of the regional project “Professionalism for All” and meets the objectives set by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov to provide the regional economy with qualified personnel and the development of practice-oriented education.
Minister of Education of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Tatyana Gridasova noted that the “Digital Quarry” has become an example of combining the efforts of the state, education and business.
“The cluster is designed to train not just miners, but “digital miners” – specialists proficient in geographic information systems, laser scanning and modern quarry equipment. It is important that enterprise specialists will be involved in the educational process, and training will become as close as possible to real production,” the minister emphasized.
Seven modern laboratories and specialized classes will be created in educational institutions. Students will master geological and surveying software, leveling systems and other digital tools that are already used in modern mining enterprises.
According to Andrey Velikoselsky, Director for Economics and Finance of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, the cluster will make it possible to train in-demand specialists, taking into account the real needs of the industry. Employers will participate in equipping laboratories, developing educational programs, organizing internships, career guidance and further employment of graduates.
“It makes it possible to train highly qualified specialists. It is important that students will study technologies that are already used at our enterprises. I am confident that this will improve the quality of training and adaptation of young specialists and will help attract new personnel to one of the key sectors of the economy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory,” said Andrei Velikoselsky.
A special feature of the project is the continuous educational trajectory “school – technical school – university – employer”. Borodino Secondary School No. 1 will become a career guidance partner of the cluster. Today, a deep dive into the coal mining industry is already underway here in Profklass.FM. The creation of a cluster will expand this work and make it accessible to a larger number of schoolchildren interested in technical and engineering specialties.
The Siberian Federal University will also join the project. Integration of technical school and university programs will make it possible to build a continuous learning route – from the first working profession to engineering competencies.
Such cooperation is important not only for educational institutions and companies, but also for municipalities: it helps to retain young people in their territories and create conditions for professional growth. First Deputy Head of the Rybinsk Municipal District Andrei Dvoryanchik called the creation of the cluster a response to the challenges of the time.
“The mining industry is changing rapidly, new technologies are being introduced, and our task is to train specialists who can work effectively in new conditions. “Digital Career is an example of a partnership that shapes the human resources potential of the future,” he emphasized.
It is worth noting that SUEK-Krasnoyarsk has been an industrial partner of the regional project “Professionalism for All” for several years. The company participates in the development of educational and production clusters “Industrial Engineering” on the basis of the Nazarovo Agrarian College named after A.F. Veprev and “Energostart”, within the framework of which it cooperates with the Sharypovsky Multidisciplinary College and the Nazarovo Energy Construction College. In 2027, NEST will open the specialty “Open-pit mining”, and already this year the Company is purchasing an EKG-10 excavator simulator for students.
The new Digital Quarry cluster will be another step in the development of a modern personnel training system for the economy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
