When you need a bottle of cold mineral water or lemonade in just a few minutes, use one simple life hack. Soak a towel in water and wrap it around the bottle, then put it in the freezer for about 10 minutes. The towel will quickly become covered with ice, and the drink will cool much faster, advises culinary expert Dmitry Zmievsky.
But there are a couple more interesting ways to quickly cool a bottle of drink.
Ice and salt
Take a bowl of water, ice cubes and salt. Mix the ingredients and place the drink bottle inside. In just a couple of minutes, the water in the bottle will become almost ice-cold.
The fact is that the crystallization point of a mixture of ice and salt is much below zero Celsius. The crystal lattice of salt is destroyed, and thermal energy begins to be actively absorbed from the drink bottle.
But be careful: this scaldingly icy mixture can easily lead to cold burns.
Running water
Turn on cold water and place the drink bottle under running water for 10 minutes. This is more effective than simply placing the bottle in a container of cold water, since the liquid must be constantly renewed – otherwise the rapid cooling effect will not work.
