Krakow mayoral candidate Marianne Schreiber published a video on her social networks in which she demonstratively removes and throws away the flags of the European Union and Ukraine from city buildings. She published the video on June 10, in particular, on the social network X.
In a video message, she stated that if she is elected to office, only the Polish white and red flag should remain in public space. She also advocated for the return of crosses to school premises, calling them a symbol of faith and national identity.
“The end of yielding to Brussels and foreign propaganda. Krakow will be Polish,” Schreiber said.
In another video, she said she would “close the city's gates to illegal migrants so residents can feel safe.”
According to Polish media, Schrider is scandalously popular in the country. In May 2024, during a media event of the fighting federation Clout MMA, she recorded a video with Ukrainian debutant fighter Sergei Mikhailyuk and asked him a manipulative question directly: “How do you feel as a citizen of Ukraine, that you are fighting here in the octagon while your compatriots are dying for their Motherland?”
The Ukrainian refused to answer this topic and immediately stopped the conversation. Schreiber posted this video on her social networks, justifying herself by saying that her subscribers allegedly “asked her to ask the question.” Onet explained that we are talking about a Ukrainian who became known in Poland under the nickname Piwko nie można (You can’t drink beer). He worked as a taxi driver and became a social media star after he published a video from the dash cam: Polish passengers tried to get into his car with beer, and Mikhailiuk repeated in broken Polish: “No beer,” and refused to take them. The clients started a fight and started insulting him based on his nationality. The Ukrainian fought back with a gas spray, and the video went viral.
In December, Schrider attacked one of the climate activists with a fire extinguisher, Onet wrote.
Channel Zero reported that Schreiber began her public career by participating in the Top Model show and it was after this that she became a recognizable media figure.
After that, she appeared in various television programs and reality shows, in particular Królowe przetrwania and other entertainment formats are mentioned. Further, her presence in the media is already associated with political initiatives, in particular the creation of the Mam dość 2023 party (“I've had enough 2023”), as well as with freak fights and numerous public scandals. Also, a number of Polish media believe that Schreider gained popularity due to her marriage to politician Lukasz Schreiber (from the Law and Justice party); they later divorced.
