Tense day in the capital. Diana Șoșoacă organizes the “March of Normality” on the same day as Bucharest Pride

MEP Diana Șoșoacă organized a “March of Normality” on Saturday, June 13, after several diplomatic missions accredited in Bucharest reaffirmed their support for the LGBTIQ+ community in Romania. Also, the event takes place on the same day as the Bucharest Pride March.

“2026 – The Year of the Family. Come with the whole family! Bring a cross or an icon each! God is with us“, Diana Șoșoacă, the leader of SOS Romania, sent on Facebook, four days before the demonstration.

According to the post, the march was scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at 10:30 a.m. The demonstrators gathered in Piața Victoriei, from where they will start on the route: Piața Victoriei – Piața Romană – Universitate – Piața Unirii – Dealul Mitropoliiei.

On the occasion of Bucharest Pride 2026, we, the undersigned diplomatic missions in Bucharest, reaffirm our strong and unwavering support for the LGBTIQ+ community in Romania.

In another post on Facebook, published a day before the march, she claimed, among other things, that the joint statement of several embassies in support of Bucharest Pride represents an interference in Romania's internal affairs and an overstepping of the diplomatic role.

She states that the embassies are trying to promote a foreign ideological agenda and that they have no right to influence the social, cultural or moral debates in Romania.

“It is unacceptable for accredited diplomatic missions in Romania to carry out public campaigns promoting certain social and ideological agendas, while ignoring the right of the majority of citizens to preserve their cultural, religious and national identity. The role of an embassy is to develop bilateral relations between states, not to influence the social and moral policies of the host country”, sent this.

At the same time, the SOS leader asks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene and remind the embassies of their obligation not to interfere in the internal affairs of the Romanian state.

The message is accompanied by harsh criticism of Pride supporters and signatory ambassadors, as well as religious arguments that society should not stray from Christian values.
