Andreea Esca, replaced by AI? What the presenter says about the future of news

“I look at AI as a source of information, as a tool,” says the TV presenter about the impact of a technology used by more and more people, in more and more fields.

Andreea Esca provided details on how she relates to artificial intelligence in an interview for Paginademedia. Asked if AI is useful or harmful, the TV presenter replied: “if you know how to use it, it can be useful.”

Present on Wednesday at the launch of the new summer edition of A List Magazine, Esca also addressed the topic of the possible appearance of virtual presenters. Asked whether it will be a long time before artificial intelligence takes over this role, the TV presenter said:

“I don't ask myself those kinds of questions. I have so much to do that it might be good to have some help at some point.”

The topic of AI replacing journalists is part of a global debate. Major technology companies have recently warned that new models of artificial intelligence may bring major risks to the job market.

In recent years, the presence of artificial intelligence on TV stations has become a reality. The first experiments of this kind took place in China in 2018 and in South Korea in 2020, according to CNN. Later, similar cases appeared in Europe, such as the one in Poland, where a media station tested virtual presenters generated entirely by AI.
