Italy and South Korea strengthen their cooperation. What Giorgia Meloni and the South Korean President agreed upon

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung pledged on Friday to deepen bilateral ties, signing memorandums of understanding in areas such as technology and development cooperation, according to Reuters.
The two leaders discussed increasing collaboration in the semiconductor sector and high-tech industries, including artificial intelligence, space, automotive and energy.
Other memorandums aim at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as cooperation in the social economy.
Italy and South Korea also signed a strategic action plan that includes the goal of reforming the UN Security Council to make it more representative and effective.
During the discussions, foreign policy issues were also addressed, with the two leaders reaffirming their commitment to maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific region and to efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Meloni and Lee were also scheduled to meet later on Friday with business leaders including Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee, Fincantieri Chairman Biagio Mazzotta and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna.
