EMP's strategic partnership with a giant from Taiwan
On May 13, ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) signed an investment agreement on the financing of the electric car production and development hub project in Jaworzno. The support comes from the KPO and is expected to amount to PLN 4.5 billion. Earlier, a strategic partner had already been selected – the Taiwanese company Foxconn. It is a global supplier of electronics (46% of the market) that cooperates with the largest technology companies, such as Apple, Google, Open AI and Nvidia.
Construction of the factory is scheduled to start in early 2027. EMP already has all permits, including: environmental and construction, enabling the start of investment, it also has a selected general contractor and negotiated contracts. The creation of the electromobility hub in Jaworzno means the development of the labor market in the region – ultimately, by 2035, almost 4,000 people will be employed here. people, which translates into nearly 20 thousand jobs with suppliers.

As EMP President Cyprian Gronkiewicz emphasized during the deliberations of the infrastructure committee, the Taiwanese partner, through its sister company Foxtron, is currently developing a branch of the industry related to electromobility and has developed a platform for cars.
— Our JV that we want to create will be based on the next generation of these platforms. We have ensured the transfer of know-how, he emphasized. He added that the decision-making center will remain in Poland, which is very important. – We are building a platform, we are building our technological competences in the field of developing subsequent models of electric cars on the basis of the platform, and all IP generated by this JV stays in Poland – noted the president of EMP.
Gronkiewicz added that EMP has an exclusive license for the electric car chassis throughout Europe, thanks to which the company will be able to sell the manufactured models not only in Poland, but also in Europe.
— The Foxconn project is becoming a pillar of the new industrialization of Central Europe. This is, one could say, Foxconn's first factory in Europe in which it invests financial resources as a private investor, and it is a base for expansion into Europe when it comes to electric cars, he added.
The EMP hub project assumes the development – based on Foxconn technology – of a portfolio of electric vehicles, initially covering three models, as well as the creation of a new European brand with headquarters and management in Poland.
