The Russian clothing market is shrinking. Chains are closing stores en masse


Well-informed sources of the Izvestia website reported that the company asked for a rent reduction, and if it could not be obtained, it closed the store. According to Evgeniya Chakberdiyeva, regional director of the retail real estate department at NF Group, the brand currently has about 116 stores throughout Russia, but the optimization process is still ongoing.

A representative of FunDay stated that the liquidation of sales points results from the network's adaptation to changes in customer traffic and the market environment. He also assured that closed stores are compensated with new openings. The FunDay brand belongs to the Sportmaster company and its offer is addressed to young families. “Izvestia” interlocutors noted that difficulties appeared in all Sportmaster brands.
