Răzvan Lucescu (57 years old), his coach PAOK Thessalonikiis in front of a important decisions regarding his future. The Romanian technician is wanted by Al-Sadd, the champion of Qatar, which is looking for a replacement for Roberto Mancini (61 years old).
The Italian is very close to taking over the Italian national team, and Al-Sadd officials have identified Lucescu as the main option for the technical bench, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The group from Qatar relies on the experience and results obtained by the Romanian coach in Gulf football. In the 2019-2021 period, Lucescu trained Al-Hilal and conquered the Asian Champions League, one of the most important performances of his career.
According to Greek media, negotiations are ongoing, but there are several issues that need to be clarified before a possible move.
“Al-Sadd is indeed interested in Răzvan Lucescu. The termination clause in his contract and final decisions are expected soon.
Al-Sadd wants the 57-year-old coach, but Răzvan Lucescu has no intention of opening any discussion regarding the personal or financial aspects of a possible agreement without a prior agreement with PAOK”, notes sport24.gr.
An important element is the technician's termination clause. This is worth 4 million euros, but is only applicable in the case of a departure to a club in the Top 5 championships of Europe.
Al-Sadd is the champion of the last three editions of the championship in Qatar. On the other hand, Lucescu is the only coach in the history of PAOK who won two Greek championship titles, in 2019 and 2024. His track record also includes two Greek Cups, won in 2018 and 2019.
PAOK are already looking for options for the technical bench
At the same time, the management of PAOK started to analyze possible replacements, in case the parting with Răzvan Lucescu will materialize.
According to the Portuguese publication A Bola, the main target of the Greeks is Cesar Peixoto (46 years old), the current coach of Gil Vicente.

Negotiations are expected to be complicated. The Portuguese technician has a contract until the summer of 2027, and Wolverhampton, a Championship team, has also shown interest in his services.
