PHOTO. After four years. How Serena Williams looked and played in her first official match after returning to professional tennis

The American returned at the age of 44 with a victory in an official competition on the tennis court in the doubles event at Queen's, Great Britain.
- Serena had not played an official match since her defeat in the third round of the US Open on September 2, 2022, against Australian Ajla Tomljanovic.
The double Serena Williams-Victoria Mboko (19 years old, Canada) passed in two sets on Wednesday the Nicole Melichar-Martinez-Erin Routliffe pair, 7-6, 6-2.
In a packed arena, Williams moved quite well, even if she missed a few easy balls and looked slightly unsteady, but a doubles match is less demanding than a singles match. Williams had also acknowledged it before the match, when she was asked if she would play singles in the future.
“As for the singles test, I can't say yes or no. For now, the answer is no. I feel that I probably need to train a little more if I want to play singles. We'll see if I succeed. And if I don't succeed, it means that it's not my way to go at the moment,” said Serena, quoted by News.ro.
The American served strongly at the end of the match, in the last game, when she served two like that.
Serena Williams is the most successful female tennis player in history, with 23 Grand Slam titles won.
After Queen's, Williams would also play in Berlin, but the big question is whether she will be selected by a wildcard to play at Wimbledon, a tournament she has won seven times.
