Andrei Nicolescu, the president of Dinamo, responded after it was rumored that he could leave the helm of the red-white team this summer.

The official from Dinamo said that he will continue in the position he holds at the Superliga club. At the same time, Andrei Nicolescu conveyed that the decision belongs to the club's shareholders and explained how a separation could occur.

Andrei Nicolescu: “The mechanism by which I could leave is clear! It is the decision of the shareholders”

“The mechanism by which I could leave is clear. At the end of every season we do a report, we go over exactly everything that was done this year, what we thought we were doing, what we didn't achieve, what we achieved. As I said last year and the year before, my mandate is always on the shareholders' table, that is, from this perspective, it is nothing new.

And when we make the plan, we go on the road. That the plan can change, that's another discussion, but for now the plans are to go on the road ahead.

Obviously, the decision is up to the shareholders. The sports perspective and the financial perspective are taken into account, which is not 100% controlled by me, but somehow it also falls within my area of responsibility.

Yes, next year we have a financial target, to reduce the operational deficit to a value about four times lower than this year's,” Andrei Nicolescu told fanatik.ro.

  • Under his leadership, Dinamo managed to escape from insolvency in the summer of 2025.
