Today, half of the country is under yellow code of heavy rains and storms. ANM updated the forecast

Meteorologists on Sunday issued new yellow code alerts for unstable weather and quantitatively significant showers, valid until Monday evening. The storms of the last day have already caused problems in dozens of localities.

The first code yellow alert is valid from 12:00 p.m. until tonight, at 9:00 p.m., with atmospheric instability and heavy showers forecast.

Almost half of the country is affected by the weather alert.

According to ANM, locally in Muntenia, the south-west of Moldova, the Eastern Carpathians and the eastern half of the Southern Carpathians, there will be periods of atmospheric instability that will be manifested by torrential showers, electrical discharges, wind intensifications, in some places gales (speeds of 50…70 km/h) and small and medium-sized hail.

In short time intervals (1…3 hours) or by accumulation there will be water quantities of 15…25 l/m2 and isolated over 30…40 l/m2.

Later, from tomorrow, June 8, from 12:00, a new yellow code for heavy rains comes into force, valid until 21:00.

ANM specifies that there will be manifestations of atmospheric instability in limited areas in Transylvania, Dobrogea, the rest of Muntenia and Moldova.
