Victor Angelescu, the minority shareholder from Rapid, spoke about the situation of the team from Giulești during the mercato break this summer, about the footballers who left the team and about the targets that Daniel Pancu and the company have for this period.

Rapid hoped to reach the European cups at the end of the season, but a mediocre performance in the play-offs did not make this possible. With a new coach, in the person of Daniel Pancu, the people from Giulești now hope to move to the next level and have a much more successful season.

Until the meeting, all the details regarding the transfer situation are being worked out in the offices. Angelescu announced the names of the players who left the team, among whom he mentioned Elvir Koljic, Leo Bolgado and Daniel Paraschiv, but also what is the plan for transfers, which Marius Bilașco and Daniel Pancu deal with in particular.

In the context in which Rapid has not sold in the last 2 years, Angelescu admitted that the team will be very attentive to this aspect and that it will invest in transfers only if revenues from similar transactions are achieved.

Victor Angelescu: “We are interested in external players”

“There will be quite a lot of changes, players have also left, we have given up on players. Koljic left, his contract ended. Daniel Paraschiv as well, his loan ended, the same for Leo Bolgado, he returned to his team, Mendes, he didn't play much, but his contract ended.

There are interesting players there at CFR. Everyone we talk to is from outside the league. With Sinyan we do not negotiate, with Biliboc under no circumstances. A very large amount is wanted, 4.5 million. We are not giving 3-4 million at the moment on any player.

They are good players, we'll see, it's the beginning of the mercato period. We had a good relationship with whoever was at CFR. We are not in discussions with CFR about a player. At the moment, from what I am talking to Marius Bilașco and Daniel Pancu, we are looking at external players.

They both propose and financially I get involved, we establish a budget, we also have records with the majority shareholder, Mr. Șucu. Daniel Pancu knows what his budget is. The salary budget is not lower than last year, it is approximately the same as last year. Transfer money… only if we sell. We haven't sold anything for 2 years.

We had offers for Borza, Petrila, Dobre, we'll see. If offers come for certain players, we can reinvest in players, otherwise not selling and investing 4 million in players is no longer possible. We haven't discussed it, but if we sell we will probably reinvest most of the money into bringing in players.

We have to see, we are not going to give the players just to give them. If good offers come, we'll see, maybe we'll think about selling it. If a good, fair offer comes, we negotiate. These are decisions that we will make together at the time. Pancu did not say that player X should stay. But we didn't even tell him that we were selling X, we didn't have those discussions,” said Victor Angelescu, Thursday evening, on the “Footbal Show” show, on Prima Sport.
