Teresa Teleżyńska, public relations leader of IKEA Retail in Poland, in an interview with przegladpiaseczynski.pl (Janki is located close to Piaseczno) confirmed changes in the company, including layoffs of some employees.

Reductions in factories and changes at the company's headquarters
The company representative also said that the Inter IKEA Group announced planned employment reductions, among others in factories in Wielbark and Goleniów, related to a decline in the level of orders for specific product groups. — On the other hand, the Ingka Group, which manages in Poland, among others, IKEA stores and shopping centers, is currently transforming at the national headquarters level, she said.
However, she emphasized that the reductions announced earlier in factories have different reasons than the current activities carried out in commercial structures.
Teleżyńska said that the current change process is focused on the main office in Janki. – They result from the need to adapt the structure of the organization to current business challenges and include both the elimination of positions and the creation of new ones – said Teleżyńska.
However, Ikea did not reveal the scale of the reorganization. There was no information provided on the number of positions to be eliminated or on the number of new positions to be created.
The company's representatives emphasize that the reorganization is not a process of group layoffs and does not constitute preparation for such a scenario. — We are not in the process of nor are we preparing for the process of collective layoffs, emphasizes IKEA Retail in Poland.
Ikea will lay off 850 people around the world

According to the company, the decision results from the growing complexity of the organization and the more difficult economic environment. As the management board emphasizes, the current operating model is too extensive for the realities of the market, which requires speed and greater efficiency.
“As part of these changes, the organization plans to reduce global employment by approximately 850 positions. According to current plans, around 300 of these roles are in Sweden. The final scope of changes will be confirmed during the process, and the goal is to implement the new organizational structure before the end of the calendar year,” it said.
The restructuring is intended to allow for the concentration of resources on key areas, such as lowering prices, developing the offer and improving customer experience. IKEA wants to make decisions faster and increase its competitiveness.
