The most common hobbies of Russians are sports and gardening.
At the same time, more than 80% say that they have a hobby, a VTsIOM survey showed. And this is the list of popular hobbies of Russians:
— Sports (17%);
— Gardening, plant growing and horticulture (16%);
— Knitting/embroidery (12%);
— Surf the Internet (11%);
— Reading books (10%);
— Fishing and hunting (5%);
— Painting (2%);
— Video games (1%)
Russians' hobbies also have noticeable gender specificities.
— “Male” hobbies are fishing, hunting (17% vs. 1% of women) and cars (5% vs. 0% of women);
— And “female” leisure activities include handicrafts (22% vs. 1% of men), dachas (22% vs. 8% of men).
