June 3, 1935

In accordance with the resolution of the Blukherovsky (now Leninsky) district committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, a school and teacher holiday was held, dedicated to the results of the school year. Ceremonial meetings were held with the participation of parents, shock workers, children's matinees and sports games were held. Objectives for the new academic year have been determined.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) On June 3, 1945, in the section “Across our region” published material about the opening of the regional Museum of Local Lore. It consists of several departments: “Nature”, “Industry and Agriculture”, “Cultural Construction” and “Jewish Culture”.

The “Nature” department contains exhibits and materials telling about the riches of the subsoil, the flora and fauna of our region. The next section displays various products produced by local industries and exhibits on agriculture. In the “Cultural Construction” department, the history of the Birobidzhan Jewish Theater named after. L.M. Kaganovich, growth dynamics in the field of healthcare and public education. The Jewish Culture department is divided into periods. The museum continues to be replenished with new exhibits.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote on June 3, 1989 about the first festival of Jewish song and music (0+), currently it is the International Festival of Jewish Culture and Art (0+).

The festival began with a tasting of Jewish cuisine at the Teatralny restaurant. Natalya Brodskaya presented Jewish national dishes to the audience, including pike, carrot tsimmes, varnechkes, latkes, strudel, forshmak and much more.

Invited to the festival were: soloist of the ensemble “Tsayt” – Inna Slavskaya, Honored Artist of the RSFSR – Vladimir Terletsky. The concert was attended by Lev Gorelik, Mikhail Keizer, Lyudmila Kvasova, Anatoly Sosnovsky, Nina Gumenik. The festival was opened by the youngest artists of the children's philharmonic “Stimul” under the direction of Mikhail Chervits.

The state television and radio company “Bira” stopped analogue broadcasting of federal channels in the territory of the Jewish Autonomous Region and completely switched to working in digital format.

The transition to digital opens up great opportunities for so-called hybrid television. This is a connection between digital TV broadcasts and the Internet. The existing digital network is very good for such a new service.

On the feast of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, Bishop Joseph of Birobidzhan and Kuldur, co-served by the secretary of the Birobidzhan diocese, hegumen Innocent (Kosarikhin) and the cleric of the cathedral, Archpriest Nikolai Nikolaev, performed the great consecration of the temple (0+) and the first Divine Liturgy (0+). At the end of it, Bishop Joseph addressed those present with an archpastoral word, and then talked with the staff of the colony and the convicts.

In FGU LIU-2 village. Bira, Obluchensky district, there is a parish at the church in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Anastasia the Pattern Maker. In October 1997, at FGU LIU-2, a medical and correctional institution in the village. Bira, on the initiative of the colony staff and prisoners, a parish was formed. On June 12, 1998, the foundation stone was laid for the temple in the name of the Great Martyr Anastasia the Pattern Maker. The wooden single-domed church was built by the hands of the convicts themselves.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote on June 3, 2003 that the regional center of the Internet Education Federation was solemnly opened in Birobidzhan. The Jewish Autonomous Region has become the 36th Russian region in which, thanks to the partnership of the Yukos oil company and the regional government, it has become possible to train school teachers in modern information technologies.

The first city hairdressing competition “Golden Curl” (6+) has ended in Birobidzhan. The organizers of the competition were the Committee of the Consumer Market and Services of the City Hall, the international school of hairdressing from Khabarovsk “Olga Pivot Point”, the modeling agency “Best”, LLC “Almila” and the company “Vlana”. The jury of the competition included not only local craftsmen, but also guests of the city. The competition participants presented their works in four categories: everyday women's and men's haircuts, avant-garde haircuts and hairstyles, and evening hairstyles. The city's best hairdressers received an invitation to participate in the regional hairdressing competition (6+).

The reference book “Dendroflora of the Jewish Autonomous Region” (0+), which was prepared by employees of the Institute for Comprehensive Analysis of Regional Problems of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was published in Birobidzhan. The book was prepared for publication by the laboratory of floristic and faunal research. The author of the publication is Tamara Rubtsova, Candidate of Biological Sciences. The directory provides a description of all woody plant species of the Jewish Autonomous Region – trees, shrubs, lianas; in total, the publication includes 165 species of flora.
