The transfer of Denzel Dumfries (30, right-back) to Real Madrid is already complete after the Netherlands international agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants.
All that remains is for the Spaniards to pay the termination clause in his contract with Inter, worth 20 million euros. That will happen early next week.

Dumfries have given Real Madrid a clear priority over other interested clubs such as Liverpool. The player's desire was to transfer exclusively to the “Santiago Bernabéu”.
Negotiations between the clubs were not necessary as the footballer's contract includes a fixed termination clause. The only discussions concerned Dumfries' personal terms.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, this part of the deal is already done and a full agreement has been reached between Real Madrid and the player's representatives.

Initially, there was uncertainty over the exact amount of the transfer, with the clause believed to be €25 million. However, it appears that the amount is dynamic.
According to Sportitalia, the clause starts at €20 million upon its activation on July 1 and gradually increases every five days until it reaches a maximum value of €30 million on July 15.
Because Real Madrid acted quickly, the club will only pay 20 million euros to acquire Dumfries. That amount will still bring a profit to Inter, who bought the right-back from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 for €14.75 million.
Real Madrid are expected to officially announce the transfer as early as next week, following the club's presidential election on Sunday.
After the sale of Dumfries, Inter will be able to reinvest the funds in a replacement, the main target of the “Nerazzurri” being Marco Palestra from Atalanta, valued at 50 million euros.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only professional right defender in the “Galacticos” team, after Daniel Carvajal, the holder of this post for the last few years, said goodbye to the Madrid team.
