Charles Leclerc (28 years old) will remain a Ferrari driver, with the Italian team announcing the extension of the contract that will keep the Monegasque driver in the red car for the next seasons of the Formula 1 Championship.

The deal marks a new chapter in a decade-long relationship. Charles Leclerc joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016, gradually rising to become one of the most prominent figures in Formula 1.

Ferrari confirmed the renewal, describing Leclerc as a central figure in the team's current and future ambitions. The 28-year-old driver has become a symbol of the Scuderia since his arrival at the Formula 1 team in 2019, taking wins, pole positions and podiums, and cementing his reputation as one of the fastest and most talented drivers in the sport.

Leclerc's connection with Ferrari predates his Formula One career. After joining the Ferrari Driver Academy, he won the Formula Two championship in 2017 before making his Formula One debut the following season. His promotion to Ferrari in 2019 kicked off a partnership that has grown stronger over the years.

“He's here to stay! We're delighted to confirm that Charles Leclerc has signed a new contract with Scuderia Ferrari HP”, says the message sent by Ferrari on the official page.

Despite the challenges faced by Ferrari in the fight for the world title, the team kept faith in Leclerc, who became one of the Scuderia's most important drivers in the modern era. He is already the second most experienced driver in Ferrari's history in Formula 1 and ranks second in the all-time pole position ranking, second only to Michael Schumacher.

Until this moment, Charles Leclerc has not become a Formula 1 champion.

Charles Leclerc: “Being a Ferrari driver is a dream”

Charles Leclerc has expressed his pride at extending his stay at the team he has supported since childhood.

“I couldn't be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP. For me, it's always been much more than just a team. It's the team I've loved and dreamed of since I was a kid, and after all these years it's become a second family.

Together we have shared some incredible moments, but also some more difficult ones, but I believe in this team more than ever and I am deeply grateful that we will continue to fight side by side for our common goal of bringing the World Championship to Maranello again.

Being a Ferrari driver is a dream, but it's also a responsibility that I never take lightly. I will continue to give absolutely everything to bring this team to where it belongs, at the top, for everyone at Maranello and, above all, for the fans, whose passion is the soul of this Scuderia,” said Charles Leclerc, according to gpblog.com.
