Tragic day for CSC Dumbrăvița, a League 2 club, and the whole of Romanian football. Junior Matias Adrian Moț died on the night of Sunday to Monday, after being hit by a car. The child was only 16 years old.
Matias would have been on Blaise Pascal Street, a thoroughfare in the north of Dumbrăviţa, when he was hit by the car, according to liga2.prosport.ro. According to the quoted source, the street would not have sidewalks on the entire portion.
The car was allegedly driven by a 64-year-old driver. The young man would not have died immediately, but shortly after, in the hospital bed. The driver was tested by the police with a breathalyzer, and the result was negative.
