Almost a thousand flights landed in Budapest
There are only a few hours left until the start of this year's Champions League final. Over 65,000 spectators will be in the Puskás Aréna stadium at kick-off time between PSG and Arsenal.
Around 4,000 police officers will be deployed in Budapest to ensure the smooth running of the final, which will bring over 100,000 fans to the city especially for this event. In the last 48 hours, around a thousand flights have landed in the Hungarian capital, coming from France and Great Britain.
Everything was categorized by the authorities as a high-risk event, under “code red” alert.
At least 10,000 ticketless supporters!
“This will be the largest mobilization of the police in one day in the history of Hungary!” said Zoltan Janos Kuczik, the deputy chief of the Hungarian National Police.
The official pointed out that, in addition to the 17,000 tickets allocated to each gallery, at least 10,000 supporters are already in Budapest without any kind of ticket allowing them legal access to the stadium.

“It is no secret that the simultaneous presence of supporters from London and Paris in Budapest represents a significant risk, but it is our duty to minimize this risk.” the police representative also specified.
Regular officers will be joined by motorcycle patrols, canine units, mounted police and drone operators, as well as aerial surveillance teams from helicopters.
Two separate fan zones
In addition to the famous UEFA festival in Heroes' Square, the organizers have prepared two special areas for the supporters of the two teams. Separate routes to the stadium have also been established so that fans do not meet on the road and any incidents are avoided.
Arsenal supporters will gather near Heroes' Square, while French fans will enjoy the fan zone set up near the Puskás Aréna stadium.
Once at the stadium, the spectators will receive T-shirts with the logos of the two teams, as well as flags that will be used in the scenography prepared for the start of the match.

Extensive security measures in France as well
According to information provided by PSG officials, there will be an impressive public order device in France as well. No less than 22,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized nationwide, of which 8,000 in Paris alone.
Last year, on the occasion of the Champions League final, which PSG won 5-0 against Inter Milan in Munich, there was a wave of violence, especially on the Champs-Élysées and near the Parc des Princes stadium, where the match was broadcast on giant screens, as it will be on Saturday.
In the event of a victory for PSG on Saturday, the Paris Police Prefecture is to establish together with the club the organization of a trophy presentation ceremony on Sunday in the French capital.
