Andrei Nicolescu, president and shareholder at Dinamo, reacted after failure with FCSB, 1-2as a result of which the “red dogs” missed qualification for the European cups.

Dinamo finished the season in 4th place in the play-off, a jump of two positions compared to the previous season. It was not enough to qualify for the European Cups; The Red Dogs were forced to play a decisive match against the best UEFA-licensed play-out team and lost this tie, 1-2 to FCSB this evening.

What were the conclusions of Andrei Nicolescu, the shareholder-president of Dinamo, in the heat?

Andrei Nicolescu, after 1-2 with FCSB in the draw: “Many factors brought us here”

“It's painful. I want to thank the players for this season, the staff and everyone who's been with us. That's it for tonight, and this year. It's frustrating, but that's it. Conclusions to come, but that's the end of the season. A tough end, we finished it the way we finished it.

Unfortunately, we conceded in extra time and goal in the first 10 minutes, when we did not have the support of the gallery. All, put together, led us to this result.

We're not just analyzing a game, but a season, how we got here. We had to arrive perhaps better, more functional, structured. I congratulate the players for their dedication, motivation, everything they showed on the field, but this is the result. Maybe I didn't choose the best solutions.

If we don't learn from such moments, it would mean that we are here for nothing. My hope is that this is the first and last time we are in a situation like this. We were hoping to get over such a situation as soon as possible.

We didn't do it, but in such situations we have to be much better and maybe next year we won't get here. That's it. Pain, disappointment. There are many factors that led to this. Not necessarily the result, but how we got to this match.

A well-deserved holiday is coming for the players. For us, analysis follows, we will try to see how good we were in some situations or weak or unprepared in other situations and to make even better choices”, said Nicolescu to PrimaSport.

Andrei Nicolescu: “We aimed for 4-6 places, we achieved the goal”

Looking at the season as a whole, Nicolescu concluded that Dinamo was on schedule and conveyed the goal of the mercato, to conclude negotiations for the desired players much more quickly.

“It's a fair season, as we predicted, despite all the fears that by losing some players we wouldn't have been able to reach the play-offs. We aimed for 4-6 places, we reached the goal, but we remain disappointed. We could have done more if we managed some situations better.

Dinamo certainly wants to be able to make decisions much faster, speaking of players. There were times when we stagnated certain decisions and maybe that led us to a lack of solutions. Even without great financial efforts, I could make some choices faster that I couldn't make before.

This is what we want next year, to be more structured in our choices when we want to transfer. We aim to bring something better than what we are losing”, said the head of Dinamo.
