Criminal file for airspace violation, destruction and attempted murder, after the drone explosion in Galati
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) reported on Friday, May 29, that public order structures remain mobilized in Galati, where a drone crashed over a block of flats and exploded, and the investigation concerns crimes such as violation of airspace, destruction and attempted murder.

“Policemen and gendarmes are acting, under the coordination of the case prosecutor, together with partners from the Romanian Intelligence Service and the Ministry of National Defense. The MAI employees have been on the alert since receiving the first calls to 112“transmits MAI.
The incident was announced by calling 112 at 01:59, and a minute later, the forces of the County Police Inspectorate and the Galati County Gendarmerie Inspectorate were alerted and, as a first response measure, 8 police crews were directed to the building to ensure specific measures.
The first crew arrived at the scene of the incident at 02.05 a.m., and at 02.18 a.m. mixed search and rescue teams were formed and the evacuation of people from the affected building began.
At 02:35 it was decided to supplement the public order device in the area with gendarmes from the Galati County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.
At 02.50, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered the movement of a team of forensics and explosives specialists from the Romanian Police – National Institute of Forensic Science, as well as specialists from the Criminal Investigations Department, to Galati.
The MAI states that the police and other structures are carrying out an investigation coordinated by prosecutors for possible crimes such as violation of airspace, destruction and attempted murder. The institution states that it will continue to inform the public and the press as new information emerges about the evolution of the situation.
A drone crashed on Friday night on a block of flats in Galati, the incident being followed by an explosion and fire at an apartment located on the 10th floor of the building. Two injured people were treated at the scene and then transported to the hospital. Later, about 70 people from that block were evacuated.
