People's deputy Olga Vasylevska-Smaglyuk prepares draft law on writing off the credit debts of dead, captured, missing military personnel and those who became disabled as a result of the war.
It is also about canceling taxes on debt forgiven by banks. Now, if a loan is written off to a military family, it is considered an “additional benefit” and is actually taxed at 23%.
According to the deputy, the total amount of debts of such categories of military personnel in state banks amounts to UAH 244.3 million. At the same time, 6.5 million UAH of debts have already been written off.
A working group with the participation of the government, banks and the NBU is currently working on changes to the Tax Code.
