Inigo Perez (38 years old), Rayo Vallecano's coach, prefaced the Conference League final, where the team for which the Romanian international Andrei Rațiu (27 years old) plays will face Crystal Palace.

Inigo Perez is set to end his two-year stint on the Rayo Vallecano bench, coming very close to signing for Villarreal, who finished the season in 3rd place in La Liga, securing next season's Champions League spot.

Inigo Perez, ahead of the Conference League final: “We're still floating in the clouds”

“We're still riding high on what we've achieved so far. I don't think we're fully aware of the significant success we've achieved and it's going to take some time for us to fully understand it.

It's been quite a long journey, but now we're making the first steps we've taken. We know the lessons learned and the experience we accumulate. The last step is obviously in Leipzig and we hope that our story will have a happy ending.

During the semi-finals I felt more and more calm. You probably don't expect it. It was the moment I discovered something I longed for. Something I was looking for after hours and days of work.

Crystal Palace are a team with huge potential, they were considered favorites before the tournament started. We must be responsible and control our emotions. Our essence and identity must shine through,” Perez told UEFA's official website.

Andrei Rațiu, expected to start in the Conference League final

After being rested in the last stage of La Liga, being introduced on the field in the 88th minute of the away victory against Alaves (2-1), Andrei Rațiu is announced as the starter on the right flank of Rayo Vallecano's defense.

The Romanian international has made 12 appearances in the Conference League this season, managing to score one goal. Rațiu also ticked off 35 matches in La Liga, during which he provided 4 assists.
