China warns Quad. “Do not interfere in matters in our neighborhood”

China's military announced Wednesday that it had expelled a Dutch frigate it believed was violating waters around the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea. The Dutch ship allegedly repeatedly sent helicopters that allegedly entered Chinese airspace.

China's military, quoted by Reuters, said it had organized naval and air forces to respond to what it considered an illegal presence. Beijing firmly called on the Netherlands to stop actions it describes as provocative.

China responds to comments from Quad countries

The situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea was the subject of the so-called talks. Quad [Quadrilateral Security Dialogue — Czterostronny Dialog Bezpieczeństwa]i.e. the United States, India, Japan and Australia. This informal strategic coalition cooperates on security and economic issues in the Indo-Pacific region. Representatives of these countries met on May 26 in New Delhi.

Politicians, “concerned about the situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea, did not mention China directly, but their comments were clearly directed at China,” notes the AFP agency.

Mao Ning responded to these suggestions on Wednesday during her daily meeting with journalists from around the world. — The situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea is essentially stable.
